Rough day for the Denver Broncos!

by Broncoblogger on Nov.01, 2009, under Bronco Coaching, Bronco Defense, Broncos Offense, Denver Broncos, Denver Sports

coach josh mcdaniels 300x182 Rough day for the Denver Broncos!Well, all good things must come to an end..

The broncos looked a little off this week. They played hard, but the Ravens seemed to want it more! I am not sure why the Broncos offense could not move the ball..was it because the Raven defense was so good or was the Bronco offense just not in sync? The Baltimore Ravens had a must win situation because 3-4 would be tough to come back from.

They had a good first half, but that kickoff return for a touchdown by the Ravens at the start of the second half, took the air out of the Broncos. As soon as the Ravens got that 9 point lead, the defense came alive and shut Denver down.

The Broncos defense played a good game, but were on the field too long in the second half to keep Baltimore from scoring. The Broncos couldn’t run the ball and had a hard time passing..The second half adjustments that Coach McDaniels had done so well, seemed to work on the first drive of the second half when the Broncos moved down the field and scored a touchdown (with a little help from a couple of penalties.) But the Raven offense also came to life and scored some points of their own. The difference seemed to be that the Raven offense had longer, sustained drives, that kept the Broncos defense on the field and wore them down.

I still believe the Broncos are a great team and they had an off week, but also ran into a team that was hungry for a win. I think Denver will beat the Steelers on Monday night and be back on track.. I know it is a bold statement, but winning at home is crucial this year and think the Broncos can do that! I think Coach McDaniels will have the Broncos ready because he was not happy with the performance today!

Brandon Stokley is my hero!

by Broncoblogger on Oct.31, 2009, under Bronco Coaching, Broncos Offense, Denver Broncos, Denver Sports

This is one of the greatest plays of the Bronco Season so far this  year and I wanted to share it again and again and again!  Our house was going crazy (my wife is a BRONCO FREAK! ) and I didn’t actually hear this announcer going wild until I just found this video of Brandon scoring this  game winning Touchdown in the Cincinnati Bengals game.  The Broncos obviously work hard on tip drills… those plays don’t happen by accident… USUALLY! But these are OUR DENVER BRONCOS and anything can happen.

What a surprising season so far for the Denver Bronco Fans

by Broncoblogger on Oct.29, 2009, under Bronco Coaching, Bronco Defense, Broncos Offense, Denver Broncos, Denver Sports

It has been a while, but I am back!!!    What about them BRONCOS!!!???

610x What a surprising season so far for the Denver Bronco FansCan’t help but write about the incredible job that Coach  Josh McDaniels is doing so far! these guys are playing as a TEAM and have a winning attitude!! The way the coaching staff makes adjustments at half time is amazing..they come out the second half with new life and alot of stamina.

I was one that thought it was going to be an OK season (9-7). The way they are playing they could do far better than that! The next few games will tell the story- @ Baltimore, Steelers, Redskins and Giants..that would scare any team. Josh has them ready to play every week. His enthusiasm and youth seem to be contagious, and Mike Nolan has the defense playing with fire and a will to finish off the other team!!

I give them a chance to win every time they step on the field. What do you think?

I know what many people are saying” jumping on the band wagon” or  “they are not as good as they look”

But, you have to give credit where credit is due..they beat Dallas, New England and San Diego(in San Diego) and remember the division we are in(not that great). I believe we have a great chance to win the division and go to the playoffs! Where we go from there is icing on the cake!

Kyle Orton is doing all he is asked, 1 int in 6 games and not making bad decisions! Brian Dawkins, Elvis Dumerville, Champ are leading the defense. And how can we forget Eddie Royal TD run backs on a kickoff and a punt, in the same game!!!!

All I can say is- GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!

by Broncoblogger on Jul.10, 2009, under Bronco Coaching, Bronco Defense, Broncos Offense, Denver Broncos, Denver Sports

Dove Valley Bronco's Training Camp HeadquartersWell, Bronco Training Camp is just around the corner- July 31st…Can’t wait!!

I love football..especially the Broncos!

It will be fun to see the competition throughout camp and see how many new starters there will be..going to a 3-4 defense will be quite a change in its self, not to mention the changes in offense! Should be an exciting season coming up..no matter how good or bad they do, we are looking at the dawning of a new Bronco team…I will be backing them all the way (Diehard fan!!)

I Wonder what part Brandon Marshall will play in the teams success or defeat..will he be a distraction..will the Broncos trade him or will he come out on FIRE and blow away everyones expectation..Let me know what you think?

Check out this video on the best of Brandon Marshall in his 2008 Denver Broncos Season!

My Wife is Cheating on me! with beer tasting that is!

by admin on May.06, 2009, under Brew Events, Brew Reviews, Bronco Coaching, Bronco Defense, Broncos Offense, Denver Sports, Micro Breweries

kannah creek brewery, flight of beerWell… that is she’s enjoying a flight of micro brews in Grand Junction without me and had the NERVE to send me a photo of her flight of beer and her great looking pizza.  I guess you’d say she’s BEER cheating!

She’s at Kannah Creek Brewery right across the street from Mesa State College… Coincidence?? I don’t think so!  Funny thing is that when we met 3 years ago I only drank Bud light, and hated wine and she only drank wine and hated beer other than Blue Moon. Flash forward to now… her favorite brews are porters  and stouts… I guess this makes sense… they do mostly have chocolate in them in some fashion and us guys all know how women feel about CHOCOLATE! And the only wine I like is a Cab or Pino Noir.. and she’s all into Stouts and Porters.  I guess you’d say we are expanding each others’ horizons!

So here is her report on the beer there without my knowledgeable expertise to influence her.  She doesn’t really care for IPA’s, so no review for them.

Her favorite.. no big surprise was the Pigasus Porter. Description: Dark brown with emphasis on CHOCOLATE and roasted nuts with a lingering coffee taste.. Hello.. who wouldn’t love that?! Followed closely by the Black Bridge Stout (We also really like Black Bridge wine and have been to that winery on the western slope of CO) This one also has the infamous chocolate, coffee and roasted flavors and a bit of carbonation to give it a creamy head.  Man am I jealous she is there without me! Island Mesa Blonde Ale comes in third.  This has a a slightly hoppy flavor and is very light.. for those new to the micro-brews… this is a great one to try says my neophyte beer drinking wife…   She didn’t care for the Hefe  called Highside kannah creek grub 300x225 My Wife is Cheating on me! with beer tasting that is!Hefeweisen she said it has the “Bleckhy” micro-brew taste!  Sooo technical… and the Lands End Amber was quite tasty also.   She enjoyed these with the Basil and Tomato Pizza with freshly grated cheese on top.  Very good.

I’ve been to this pub myself a few times and the atmosphere is very homey with a great patio out front.  The regular crowd is a mixture of locals, college students and a few tourists from the front range like us.  If you are ever in Grand Junction Colorado make sure and stop by for a flight!

Interesting draft day in Denver

by Broncoblogger on May.02, 2009, under Bronco Coaching, Bronco Defense, Broncos Offense, Denver Sports

2009 Bronco Draft

2009 Bronco Draft

I was a little surprised when the Broncos took  a running back as their first pick in the draft, I thought they would go more for Linebackers and Defensive front three.  I think the biggest surprises to me were Alphanso Smith a CB and S Darcel McBath. The broncos seem to address the defensive backfield in the off season, with the addition of Brian Hawkins( I think this is awesome addition, his intensity and love for the game are second to none) and CB Andre’ Goodman from the Dolphins.

You just never know what is going to happen on draft day. Hopefully they did enough in the draft and free agency to fill the holes.

What are your thoughts on draft day for the Broncos, let me know!

Here is the official 2009 draft list
