Brew beer at home? Only for the gifted!

I have never tried nor really thought of trying to brew beer at home myself. Some brothers from another Mother have taken up this craft recently to very mixed reviews so far. The first we all got to sample at our annual Novemberfest in Colorado Springs… the guest list is quite exclusive so don’t ask! I was leary of what their first batch might taste like. I figured lots of bite, after taste, but was surprised when it actually tasted great.. 10 glasses great!!!… but that’s another story! They, at the time were brewing a blueberry ale for Springfest, it looked pretty interesting with all these plump blueberries floating at the top of the containers… flash forward to the day the beer was ready to drink. Apparently the percentage of alcohol is unknown until after the fact in beer brewing.. I’m sure home brewers could explain that better… but this stuff came out HIGH! They got lucky, when the brew was ready to drink, they were the only ones around. They got hammered and then the unfortunate part, blueberries are a natural laxative..get the picture?
It is always an adventure to try home brew. Sometimes you are wondering” how did it turn out like this”, other times, it’s like “this is the best stuff I’ve ever had!!!” I am glad my friends decided to brew their own beer because I can be one of the beneficiaries of their hard work!!!
Thought this was an entertaining article.

A cool, smooth brew, flavored with whatever you found. It may be very bad, it may be good. It will be beer.

I saw that article too! Amazing what people will do for beer right?
I think in regard to home brewing, the all in one kits are a decent way for people to give it a try without too much investment in time or money. I’ve heard more positive outcomes than negative and then once people get the hang of it they can invest in more equipment. Cheers!
